I had a nice chat with Tom Dunne the other night. Tom used to be in a rival band back in the early 90’s in Dublin. My band was called Hinterland, his was called Something Happens. Tom is now a great broadcaster and has his own late night show on Today FM.

As part of our whirlwind tour of Europe, a chap called Ronald Verhaegen asked me for an interview backstage in Oostende Belgium. I guess he is doing a year about Bowie and wanted to chat about how I met David and how we made the record “The Next Day” etc.

David Bowie won the Brit award last night for “Best British Male”.
Well its about time in my humble opinion and we are all thrilled.
In typical DB style he sent Kate Moss dressed in one of his Ziggy Stardust costumes to collect it on his behalf. Noel Gallagher was the Presenter and did a stand up job.
Oh, and he had Kate close his speech with “Scotland stay with us …”
I guess David likes his shortbread !
Yesterday was a special day. We got to play at The Royal Albert Hall in London.
Suzanne was invited to play and to present an award at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. We played a new song called Horizon . I played the 12 string Furch acoustic and Suzanne sang and we had Alison Balsom come and play trumpet as a special guest. It was such a thrill to stand up on that famous stage and look out on that beautiful hall.
