Hi Everyone
Finally heading home after a fantastic week of gigs and events celebrating the first anniversary of David Bowie.
It started with a huge concert in Brixton London on what would have been David’s 70th birthday. All my former Bowie band mates were there alongside star studded array of guest singers. A packed house of 5,000 sang along what was a very emotional and exhilarating evening.
Then next day we flew to Dublin for a packed out SpookyGhost show in Wheelans. We had special guests Cello Ireland for arrangements of Arvo Part and David Bowie. Professor Eoin Devereux did a Q&A with me on stage and Aoife Fitzpatrick opened the show. What a wonderful night we had.
The following day was even busier with a Newstalk radio interview on the Pat Kenny show. Next up a songwriter workshop at IMRO, Irelands publishing organization, an interview and appearance on the Six o’Clock show on TV 3, and a guest slot on the closing night Bowie Raw show for the Dublin Bowie festival.
The next day seemed easy. Just a masterclass at the Dublin BIMM college talking about guitar pedals and how to use them effectively. Great turn out and I love the people there. Such a positive place.
And last but not least we finished on Thursday with an interview and performance on the Ray D’Arcy radio show at RTÉ radio 1, the national station. SpookyGhost got to perform two Bowie songs Loving the Alien and Andy Warhol featuring Cello Ireland
Big thanks to Mark Dyde for being my super tech for the whole run. Could not have done it alone !
And thanks to all at Dublin Bowie festival, John Brereton and Pete Murphy , Keith Johnson at IMRO and Anne Marie Sheilds at BIMM.
Off back to NY now to see what’s next
Cheers !
